38 years ago today basketball legend Michael Jordan signed his first sneaker deal with Nike. Despite Adidas being his go to sneaker he signed a 5-year deal with the shoe giant for $2.5 million. Launched in 1984 with a $3 million in three year goal, the first shoe earned a whopping $126 million in it’s first year crushing expectations. The rest is history!! In 1997 the two launched the “Jordan Brand” which became and still is the top selling sneaker brand today.
